Hi, my name is Trasa Fowler! I grew up in southwest Kansas with a passion for bird hunting and the outdoors. My first hunting season without dogs, we failed to recover all the downed birds. So I started researching bird dogs, and fell in love with Brittanys. I found that Brittanys are natural hunters as well as great family dogs, and of course, I thought they were good looking too! In 2003 I followed my Grandfather's and Great Grandfather's legacy, raising and training bird dogs.
Our hunting season starts in Texas chasing the Blue Quail and Bobwhite Quail, then goes north through Oklahoma and Kansas, and all the way up to South Dakota chasing the Bobwhite Quail and Ringneck Pheasant. In the off season we participate in AKC Field Trials and Hunt Tests to keep the dogs in shape and on birds. It also helps us all stay in shape and be ready for the next bird season.
My dogs are special to me and I take pride in their abilities to do anything I ask of them, and in return they strive to please me.
What is a Fowler? It is an English name for a person who hunts wildfowl. A professional birdcatcher. In the days previous to firearms, birds were captured with nets spread on the ground, in traps and snares.
